Tool Reconditioning Service

Sharpening Solutions for Manufacturers Large and Small

Save big money on tooling using our sharpening service. Tools received for reconditioning will be cleaned, inspected, and sharpened to the correct shape. We have 40+ years of experience in the field, so don’t worry, you’re in good hands!

Cleanup & Sharpening

When blades / tools are sent in they go through a rigorous 4 step service. First, we will clean the tools, and in the case of sawblades, we will polish them. After a bit of hard cutting, your cutting tool will likely be dirty and caked with material. This not only makes the tools look like new but also helps us to see wear we need to remove during the grinding process. Next, we will inspect them for things such as broken teeth and warp, if applicable, fixing the issues we find. The tool's cutting edge(s) will then be finely ground to the correct cutting geometry. Using a combination of aluminum oxide and diamond wheels, most tooling can be ground to like new functionality for a fraction of the price of a new one. Lastly, blades and tools will be either coated in a protective rubber coating or wrapped with plastic tubing to preserve the sharpening.

Additional Reconditioning Services

  • Rettipping sawblades

Many blades, especially saw blades, need new a few carbide teeth when they come in. We will choose from our wide selection of saw teeth and silver solder the new teeth in place. These new teeth will then be ground to match the original teeth. On many blades it is much cheaper to replace teeth than to scrap the saw and buy a new one.

    Sawblade & Cutter Retipping

  • a sawblade

A sawblade is practically useless when it becomes warped and bent. Our straightening service saves some of those blades from being thrown away so quick. Every sawblade that comes through our shop will be checked for warp and straightened if necessary.

    Blade Straightening

  • A cleaned sawblade
    Sawblade Reboring

Occasionally a sawblade arbor hole will need to be enlarged to fit on the machine. We can help with that!

  • Sawblade Shoulder Rewelding

The shoulder is the part on a sawblade that holds the carbide tooth. Sometimes a blade can take such a hard hit that these shoulders crack or snap off. We deal with those problem spots by welding the shoulder on and grinding this weld to match the others.
